Ready to dance with the dead?💀🎻| A 4K Danse Macabre Cinematic

This cinematic marked the beginning of a new chapter. My Danse Macabre video was featured by Looopings, Europe's largest theme park news website. The video was watched almost 10,000 times, an unexpected breakthrough that transformed my entire approach to (theme park) filmmaking. It was the moment I realized my style, storytelling, and sense of atmosphere could genuinely make an impact, and because of that, it led to the founding of FPMedia.

In this video, I guide the viewer into the dark heart of the Huyverwoud. It's a world where shadows stir, music sends shivers down your spine, and the boundary between life and death dissolves. I blended low-light cinematography, music-focused editing, sound design, and atmospheric storytelling to capture the essence of Danse Macabre – not as a standalone attraction, but as a full cinematic experience.

How did I film this project?

Except the onride footage, I was completely responsible for the entire production: from cinematography and SFX/VFX to color grading and allround atmosphere. The footage was captured using a Sony ZV-E10 with a Sigma 18-50 f2.8 lens, mounted on a Feiyutech Scorp Mini stabilizer, and with a K&F Concept VND filter.

Several staff members even contributed to amplify the atmosphere, and the video is still doing the rounds amongst the Efteling Macabre team to this day.
